Black Wealth Survey

We need your insight to develop the best investment products

My name is Faraji Whalen-Robinson and I’m the Founder of SouthBanc, a social enterprise start-up seeking to solve the problem of wealth inequality through real estate and capital. We’re interested in learning more about underrepresented investors who believe in investing in opportunities that benefit low-income, or distressed, communities.

At SouthBanc, we specifically target Opportunity Zones. These are low-income census tracts nominated by governors and certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury into which investors can finance new projects and enterprises in exchange for certain federal capital gains tax advantages. Opportunity Zones are home to 31.5 million residents, 56% of whom are from minority groups.

Currently, we want to better understand the group of individuals who may be interested in investing in or learning more about Opportunity Zones, regardless of whether or not they are considered “typical” investors.

If this sounds like you, we ask that you complete the following anonymous survey. It will help us tailor our work to best serve investors like you while working together to impact low-income communities.  The survey should take no longer than 10-15 minutes.

We thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
